Super Mario Land

The game Super Mario Land is a side-scrolling platform video game developed and published by Nintendo. It was the first Mario platform game to be published for the handheld Game Boy console. It also marked the first appearance of the famous character Mario outside of Nintendo's home console. While many people enjoyed the game when it first launched, it was a disappointing disappointment for many players. Here are some of the key differences between the console and handheld versions.

The first portable version of the Mario series, Super Mario Land was released in April 1989 in Japan and worldwide in April 1990. Unlike other titles in the Mario series, Super Mario Land features a stereoscopic overworld and a non-linear gameplay. Unlike the other games in the Mario series, Super Mario Land was designed without the input of original creator Shigeru Miyamoto.
